The Studio

Creating Play

An independent game studio where cinema, storytelling and play meet.

Our story

From the director's chair to the game screen

Creating Play was founded by Bernardo Malafaya, an advertising videomaker, creative writer and animator who has spent years building worlds for the screen with film, motion graphics and AI-powered filmmaking.

Games became the natural next step: a way to let the audience step inside the story instead of only watching it. Our first game, Castle Defense: Monster Siege, puts you on the castle walls. Our second, Arthur: The Crown of Rex, sends you beyond them.

We are small on purpose. Every character, level, cutscene and piece of music comes from the same creative vision, so each game feels like one complete world.

What we believe

Our pillars

Stories with heart

Our heroes win battles, but the stories are about something bigger. True strength is measured by trust and kindness, not by fear.

Built for your pocket

We design for phones first: clear touch controls, short sessions that still feel epic, and worlds that look great on a small screen.

How we make games

From first sketch to final cutscene

A filmmaker's process, applied to play.

  1. Story & world

Every game starts with characters, a conflict and a mythology to explore.

  2. Art & animation

Illustrated maps, characters and menus define the look of the world.

  3. Music & sound

Original music gives each kingdom its own voice.

  4. Play & polish

Levels are built, tested, rebuilt and tested again until they feel right.

  5. Cinematics

Trailers and cutscenes, directed like short films, bring the story to life.

Part of a creative family

Creating Play is one of several studios under the same creative roof.
